HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Face-to-face time during therapy sessions is typically between 45 and 60 minutes.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Dr. Buick no longer accepts insurance. Out of pocket rates are $175 per 60-minute session and $100 for 30-minute sessions.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

Unfortunately, Dr. Buick cannot offer sliding scale rates. There are many clinics in town who have such programs available, and Dr. Buick will gladly provide their contact information to those who request it.

IF I SEE A PSYCHOLOGIST, DOES IT MEAN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME?

There is a stigma surrounding mental health and many people are afraid that if they seek help, it means they are "crazy" or "messed up." This is absolutely not true. Therapy can be beneficial to anyone and you may be surprised by how many of your family and friends have seen a therapist. Therapy is about personal growth and getting to know oneself, and is focused on helping each individual live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

HOW LONG DOES A PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION TAKE?

Psychological evaluations, whether for general psychological functioning, forensic, or neuropsychological reasons, vary in the amount of time they take. It is dependent upon the referral question and each individual's situation. Scheduling a consultation is the best way to determine what a given evaluation will look like.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING?

Testing rates range from $200 to $250 per hour, depending on the type of referral. These rates apply to the hours spent in face-to-face testing sessions, as well as time spent scoring, interpreting, and writing reports.
