INITIAL CONSULTATION (NOT AVAILABLE)

Finding the Right Match

In the initial consultation, or intake, you will meet with Dr. Buick to discuss your needs and personal history. It will also allow you to determine whether she is the right fit for you. For therapy clients, research has shown that finding a psychologist with whom you feel a connection is vital to the therapeutic process. While it is typical to feel nervous or uncomfortable during the first few sessions, you will want to make sure that you begin to feel understood and connected. Because it is important that everyone receives the highest available quality of care, Dr. Buick will assess each individual situation to determine whether she has the availability and expertise to provide the requested services.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT (NOT AVAILABLE)

Evaluation & Treatment

Neuropsychological evaluations involve testing of various cognitive abilities, which allows the neuropsychologist to acquire information about a patient’s functioning in the realms of intellectual, motor, memory, behavior, language, and executive functioning. This data, combined with an individual's personal history, can help provide a diagnosis and specific recommendations for treatment. Dr. Buick has completed thousands of hours of psychological and neuropsychological testing with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Common referrals are for autism, neurodevelopmental disabilities, learning problems, and ADHD.
